Hermanus Success Stories
Happy in Annie's Kitchen! PDF Print E-mail

SandileWhen Sandile arrived at DreamWorker, he was an unemployed father, caring for his two children as well as his own father! Luckily DreamWorker managed to find him a position at Annie se Kombuis in central Hermanus, earning a basic salary in addition to incentives and tips. He elaborates:

“My ultimate goal is to own a store that supplies traditional African outfits, targeted for special events. For now I am really happy to have work that provides me with regular income to support my children and my father. I understand that when the economy is tight, people travel less and spend less, but I do my best in my job, to ensure I can earn as much as possible every day off tips and incentives. I am passionate about making a contribution to the economy, to my employer and my family. And as a proud African, I would love to be selling proudly African clothing one day soon!”

“Having worked in the hospitality industry for many years, my dream is to run my own bed and breakfast one day. My gift is that no matter how difficult things are for me, I wake up every day with a positive attitude and a smile on my face. This, I believe is so important in the hospitality industry – the ability to make people feel at home and happy around me. Making their dreams come true - Hermanus PDF Print E-mail

Dreamworker Hermanus is up and running and really excited about their first quarter results.

To date, they have interviewed, registered and mentored 437 candidates from the Zwelihle and Mount Pleasant communities.

Work opportunities are increasing daily. Operating from the colourfully decorated offices of the RDP Centre in Zwelihle, they have managed to clock up 1 071 workdays (a workday being a full day of work). This translates into R128 520 of income being generated into the community – well worth celebrating!

4 lucky candidates were employed by the well known local establishment, the Windsor Hotel. Two in housekeeping and two as front of house attendants. All four of these people had been jobless for quite some time and are truly grateful for their new found employment. With Hermanus being such a tight community, Vuyiswa sees them regularly and each and every time they express their deep gratitude to her.

And another lucky candidate, 21 year old Vuyo Nokama, landed a job at PennyPinchers as a stock controller. Both he and his parents are overjoyed that the extra year spent studying Admin at Boston College has paid off at last and he can now bring some much needed income into the family.

DreamWorker Hermanus has a wonderful range of potential candidates across all categories of work and would love to help make that perfect match of employer to employee.
